New Beginnings Dog Training
Professional Dog Training in Garland,Tx
Our Philosophy
At New Beginnings Dog Training, we believe that dogs are animals, meaning they communicate differently than people. Because of these differences, it can create havoc and confusion for inexperienced owners.
We prioritize building a relationship centered around cooperative respect and trust. Implementing proper communication with appropriate training methods is the best way to increase the bond between you and your dog. We teach your dog the meaning of yes and no so the dog has clarity of the expectations, which results in your dog making better decisions based on the expectations that are taught.
Sometimes, certain behavior problems restrict the owner from bonding with their dog. Therefore, here at New Beginnings Dog Training, we provide owners with current science-based techniques to help solve what the issue might be.
For more information, we would love to answer any questions about our method of training, and what to expect when choosing to work with us.
Meet The Team!
Katie Hollander - Head Trainer
My name is Katie Hollander and I am the head trainer at New Beginnings Dog Training. I have been passionate about animals my entire life. For the first 11 years of my life, I rode and competed horses in eventing. I achieved a C1 rating as a member of the Rockwall County Pony Club. As my experience grew, I started training off the track thoroughbreds.
While attending high school, I was apart of the FFA and learned about caring and showing livestock animals.
Towards the end of my high school experience, my family found a little, black puppy on the street. My parents brought her home and everyone fell in love with her. From day one, she was a handful. We had no experience with high energy dogs. My parents were thinking of rehoming her, so I offered an agreement: If I train her, can we keep her? They agreed.
From then on, I worked with her everyday and did extensive research on different training methods. She earned her trick title, CGC, CGC Urban. We entered her in a few barn hunt trials where she brought home the yellow ribbon out of 20 competitors. I mentored a local dog trainer that inspired me to start training other dogs on my own. In 2022, I start my first professional dog training job at Cosmic Canine. I worked with fear/anxiety, dog aggression, and human aggression cases. After years of working there, I decided to venture out on my own and start my own dog training business. In total I have 20 years of animal care/handling experience and 6+ years of dog training experience. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and helping owners to improve their relationship with their dog!
